Meet Lola

She loves New York too. I think she would fit right in.

Winter Kate

I have been debating over purchasing this Winter Kate cardi for a while now. After seeing it on Ashley Tisdale in a different/ sold out colour. I bit the bullet and ordered it. It's the most expensive non jacket/formal dress item of clothing in my wardrobe. I cannot wait to wear it.
My credit card doesn't love me at the moment, however I think credit card interest is evil and I would never purchase what I couldn't afford to pay off.

Post Lunch

In a similar theme to my last post, I really enjoy my lunch options when working in the city. Today I went to BTS a cupcake bakery,
They have cute names such as 'the Carrie' and 'the princess'. I chose 'The Elvis' if the king were still alive im sure he would
enjoy this cupcake banana chocolate chip with a peanut butter frosting.
Im not a sweet tooth by any means, however add peanut butter to the title and im there.

If you are an Adelaideian and a peanut butter fiend like me, be sure to try the Peanut Butter Frappe at Bracegirdles.

My Lunch

Im currently in the city office for training this week, I have been overwhelmed by the choice of food during lunch. I worked in the city about two years ago and forgot how good the food is. Normally I have a choice of a $8.5 sandwich or $9 sub par sushi.
I had the Sumo salad Pumpkin soup and wrap combo (I went for chicken caesar) today. You can get the biggest sushi rolls for $2.5 in the city, something that I know will never happen in the burbs.
Im thinking sushi train for lunch tomorrow, which will leave little time for shopping :(

Cheap thrills

Quite possibly the make up deal of the century. Priceline have Covergirl mascara for $7.95 each... that's $10 off. Im pretty sure I paid more when I was in the states. So I stocked up, they didn't have Lashblast luxe so I will try and track it down tomorrow.
Lashblast has been my favourite mascara for over two years now, beats all those best mascara's out there. Those 'cult make up' lists always piss me off, seriously Maybelline's Great Lash is the worst mascara out. They must be dishing out the big bucks for those reviews.

Rainy day packages

Rainy gloomy weather always makes me sad. Especially when it happens when happens to rain buckets when i'm walking to my car. While I returned home a little wet. I arrived to this.
I was really surprised to see my Tiffany order since I had words with Fed Ex last night about their fee to deliver to an alternate address.
A little back story here is required, last time Fed Ex delivered to my work guess what the lovely driver did? Stood it the middle of the foyer and screamed "I have a package for ZOEY" at the top of his lungs. I was with a client at the time and had to run out of the office and quickly sign. Seriously there were 5 people that could of helped you if you waited 5 seconds. Needless to say my boss doesn't like personal packages to be delivered to work. My postie delivers to work as well as home for me (I live in the same area). She introduced herself to me and told me my address when I first met her.

My earrings are an exact replacement, so I got what I expected. The enamel charm is not as cute as I expected. They no longer make the silver one that was stolen, so its the next best thing. However it didn't come with the clip for the bracelet, so looks like I will be spending my lunch tomorrow getting one shipped to me.

My Urban Outfitters order also arrived tonight. Online shopping can be risky, what you end up with and what you imagined are sometimes not the same thing. My tunic was supposed to by black and white. Its black and tan, but still pretty cute. The fit is perfect. Yay.

My SHOP subscription just ran out, so I picked up the current issue on my way to the checkout. Today I decided to get a Cosmo subscription instead. Price: Free thanks to my credit card award points.

John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo. It won the ACP beauty award for its category so i'm hoping its good.

I need to do a outfit post or something soon. I ate my way across Adelaide on the weekend, however still not confident to take photos for the blog.

Online shopping.

I posted a little while ago about my failed attempt to purchase Essie polishes in NYC. Thanks to the power of the internet I managed to get my little paws on some Essie.
I ordered from Nail etc 7 bottles of polish (3 full size and 4 mini) for $60 aud shipped. Cant fault the service, I paid for standard shipping and my order arrived within a week.

I highly recommend 'Good to Go' top coat. Super glossy (if you like that sorta thing) and dries incredibly quickly.

If you are going to San Francisco

Leave your jewellery at home, if your name is Zoey.
Last month when going though the TSA screening at Oakland airport I forgot that US laws require you to take off all your jewellery. I quickly took it all off and placed it in the plastic tub and went though the TSA screening. I only realised after I left the screening area and sat back down that I didn't have it all with me. Panic set in and I went back to the TSA area, I begged to be let though. I had the staff check the floor and some tubs (it took alot of begging) and somebody had picked it up and walked off with it. It kinda ruined my day and I thought that the world was against me.
Fast forward to that evening and a restaurant in Chinatown, one of my tour mates asked me where my earrings were. I realised then that I had lost my earrings as well as a charm bracelet.
I burst into tears and cried for a good hour. I took a pep talk from the lovely Dylan and a beer for me to get out of my funk.

Fast forward to yesterday and I FINALLY got in touch with my insurance company. A cheque is in the mail so I can replace my jewellery. They had sentimental value behind both pieces and one is no longer made by Tiffany and Co. But least i'm not out of pocket.

I pretty much cursed the TSA screening at every other airport, thought it was completely over the top. Til I visited the site of that fateful day in New York. I then understood and happily removed everything for the rest of the trip.

Follow Me!

I have a follower, one follower is better than none. I did a happy dance when I saw that somebody was following me.
I am very easy to please.

Lemon Bars

This weekend I promised to make Lemon Bars for my work colleagues. They went down so well last time I figured the recipe would make a good blog post.

Lemon Bars

Base:

1 cup icing sugar

2 1/2 cups of plain flour

240 grams butter room temperature

Rub all ingredients together in a bowl then press mixture into a 23 x 33 x 5cm deed tray lined with baking paper.

I used a spoon right til the end and use my hands for the last bit and the pressing onto the tray.

Bake for 10 mins on 150 degrees and remove and cool

Filling

3/4 cup of plain flour

2 1/2 cups of castor sugar

Zest and juice of two small lemons

4 eggs

Sift flour into a bowl and add the sugar

Lightly beat the eggs and lemon zest plus juice together then add the flour sugar mixture and mix well. No real need to use a kitchen aid, however considering how much it cost I want to get some use out of it.

Pour over the base and bake in the oven for 45 mins to an hour also on 150 degrees.

When its lightly browned its time to take it out.

Refrigerate in the tray after cooling for at least 6 hours. Taking it out too early will cause the whole thing to cave in and crack through middle.

Remove from tray and slice.

They are super simple to make and taste amazing
