Twilight

Getting my morning coffee tends to be a bit of a social affair, being a creature of habit I get my coffee at the same time every day. I know the regulars that are sitting at the bar and I always have a quick chat.
My little ears prick up when I hear 'Eclipse is showing right now, i'm just running it through' (a projectionist is one of the morning regulars). My heart started beating fast and I thought about faking a car crash or something to my boss so I could watch it before anybody else. I always thought that midnight screenings were the first time that a movie could be run though.
I was the good little employee and arrived at work on time. I will just have to wait til Monday night to see Eclipse.

Im really not a twihard I actually didn't know that it was being released this week til monday.

Stumbling

I have been a happy iPad owner for a few weeks now. My only complaint is the lack of apps designed for the iPad. According to the commercial there are already over 20,000 apps or something like that. I'm guessing they are including the iphone apps in that figure. I am yet to find too many stand out apps. I do love the twitterific app, and its ability to open twitpics without going into a new screen.

I have a new obsession StumbleUpon! Run don't walk and download it for your ipad.
Seriously it reads my mind.
After selecting a few topics that interest you, StumbleUpon takes you to a random website based on your suggestions.
I will be baking a Smore's Slice this weekend.
Thank You StumbleUpon.

Leaving on a jet plane

Yesterday I took the day off to go with my friend B's family to say goodbye. She left for a little trip around Europe
For the next FIVE and a HALF MONTHS.
Not sure what i'm going to do with myself, I have a small group of good friends, but not alot.
I keep on thinking 'I need to tell B this'. Im going to miss hanging out eating chinese food...... and her espresso machine.
To cheer myself up I went shopping to find a new winter coat. I gave up after 5 hours and countless attempts. Everything was too big or too short.
One Alannah Hill jacket was perfect, however cropped and most likely to induce shivers. It was on sale and I still want it.

To cheer myself up I went into Lush. Im no longer a Lush virgin.
Im off to have a bath.

Urban Outfitters

One of the best things to come out of the GFC (working in finance the GFC sucked big time) was the introduction of free shipping to Australia.Urban Outfitters started offering free shipping to Australia for orders over $150 ($10 for orders under) I had to take advantage. Since I avoided the store in the states for fear of going over my luggage allowance.
I decided to take advantage and place an order of the following

BDG 3/4 stripe tunic back order date has changed 3 times now :(

Matryoshka Doll Measuring cups will look great in the kitchen next to my kitchenaid

LO VE studs inspired by the darling Houda on my tour

other favourite sites that take care of Aussies are
Revolve Clothing

Essie

Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere always has her nails painted with such beautiful colours by Essie.
Essie really isn't readily available in Australia (they don't even have stockist numbers only a company number and no website).
I have only ever seen the brand once in a salon where I had a pedicure two years ago, the most perfect pale pink shade. I thought it was 'Ballerina' however 'Ballet Slippers' is most likely the shade.
I tried to hunt down the shade in the states by poking my head into every shop salon. OPI everywhere but no Essie. I managed to spot the brand on my last day at Duane Reade, while trying to find a pink Snuggie and peanut butter M&M's.
On a side note, I never found the peanut butter M&M's and ended up buying several packs of Peanut Butter Cups from Fairways.

The stand was almost empty so I came back to Australia empty handed
turns out I could purchase Essie at adorebeauty at $18.95 a pop so I only purchased three shades
Mint Candy Apple (Creme De Menthe Mint) Ballet Slippers (Pale Pink - Sheer Finish) Pink Parka (A Creamy Piping Hot Pink)
They are slightly smaller than OPI bottle (in appearance only both are 15ml) however they last alot longer. I have been wearing my current application for one week and im so far chip free. I would like to see OPI do that.

My mission now is to find Essie online for a bit cheaper. Or find a stockist in Adelaide

Skincare

Project pan: Is an incentive to use up a certain product then rewarding yourself with something new and shiny.

I have done this myself with make up several times thanks to Back to Mac, I also have cheated by squeezing out product into another bottle to get there quicker. However we won't talk about that.

This week I did it for the very first time with not one but TWO skincare products. My skin has always been up temperamental and I have been on the hunt for the perfect routine since I can remember
Clean and Clear: Should not be flogging this stuff to teenagers with acne, highly fragranced and irritated my skin
Clinique 3 step: Paint stripper would most likely be milder
Cetaphil: Does nothing, ended up using it as hand soap
Ella Bache: Would be great for older skin, however too rich for mine.
Dermalogica: Works okay however never gave noticeable results.
Neutrogena: Like the wave, however its rubbish compared to my Clarisonic

Fast forward several years and I have found products that work for me.
I have been using Philosophy's 'Purity Made Simple' for 8 months now and it gently and easily removes make up. My skin is left clean and not too tight or dry. Works well with the Clarisonic as it doesn't foam, I would imagine a foaming cleanser would be quite messy.
Philosophy products are alot of fun. The shower gels/ bubble baths come in fun scents. I have 'Vanilla Birthday Cake' and 'Melon Daiquiri' . I would of purchased 'Beach Girls' at Sephora if it wasn't so heavy.
The 'Micro Delivery Peel' is a two step process that gives a salon worthy exfoliation.
'The Supernatural' gives a great light coverage that is perfect for summer. The sponge applicator on the top is a pain in the arse though.

Kiehls Ultra facial moisturiser is another favourite of mine. The thing I love about Kiehls is their policy around samples. They don't advertise, they sample to get the word out. I love when making a purchase they ask what samples you would like. I received a sample of the Ultra Facial Moisturiser when picking up a bottle of Creme De Cops body lotion.
The Ultra Facial moisturiser is light and very low in fragrance, it absorbs quickly into the skin and love the tinted version also.
Even my dogs use Kiehls products.

my empty bottles, Photographic evidence that I actually did it.

What i'm currently using. Kiehl's 'Ultra Facial Moisturiser' not pictured as I finished the bottle :) and have not made it to the counter yet.

Clarisonic

For those not in the know, the Clarisonic is a skincare brush that uses ultrasonic waves to gently cleanse the skin. Normally I would think it would be in the same category as things they flog on TVSN. However after seeing it advertised on sephora.com (those emails are evil as they are constantly offering me VIB offers that I cannot have, due to my location) also the rave reviews on every forum I visit.
If you don't believe it Youtube it and you will see many happy users and demonstrations.
When I was in New York earlier this month, I decided to pick up the Mia. The Mia is the smaller more portable version suitable for us Aussies due to the 110-240 voltage. Whilst it only has one speed most reviews I read stated that you don't need the multiple speeds.
I have been using it for 3 weeks now and my skin has never been better. I have been suffering from flaky skin due to the harsh air con at work. The Clarisonic has left me with smooth glowing flake free skin. Im not yet at the point of going out without foundation, I have included a make up free photo for you.
My only regret is not buying a replacement brush (they need to be replaced every 3 months). I figured if it didn't work I wouldn't of wasted any extra cash.

Clarisonic is available at sephora.com retails for $149 for the Mia
For those outside of the US it can be purchased at skinstore.com

I have read that the Clarisonic will be available in Australia in September

Write what you know

A very wise person (my mother) told my 12 year old self when it comes to telling a story its best to write what you know.
Having spent a good year or so being a self confessed 'Blog Addict' I decided that I should have a shot. Whilst I will never be a Emily, Chiara, Jane or Rumi I will be me.
My name is Zoey.
I am in my twenties
I dont have children, I have dogs
I love clothes, I can pick designer influences in chain store clothes
Im not a fashionista
I love skin care and make up and people who love to share recommendations
I shamelessly love MTV's scripted reality
I love to bake, and share that with others.
I love New York, I can expertly swipe a metro card and hail a cab. Therefore I am destined to live there one day.

I will include all these in my blog and will most likely add more as time passes.
